This Privacy Policy explains how RTVSIM ("RTVSIM", "we", "us", or "the Company") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit rtvsim.com and use our simulators (the "Service"). We keep data collection minimal. We do not sell your personal information. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Who We Are
RTVSIM operates the website at rtvsim.com and the related game application and simulators. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@rtvsim.com. For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the Company is the controller of the personal information described here.
2. What We Collect
On the marketing site (rtvsim.com), we do not require you to create an account, and we collect only the analytics and usage data described below. We collect:
- Usage & analytics data via our analytics provider (PostHog): pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, screen size, and interactions such as clicks on tagged buttons and certain named events (for example, opening an FAQ or reaching the pricing section).
- A device identifier stored in a first-party cookie and/or your browser's local storage, used to recognize your browser across page views and visits.
- Account data (in the game application only): if you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and game save data so you can sync your progress. The marketing site does not collect this.
- Content you provide: if you use a feature that lets you upload or link images, that content is processed as described in our Terms.
There is currently no email signup form on the marketing site. If we add a "Notify me" or newsletter feature, it will collect the email address you choose to submit, for the purpose you submit it for, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
4. Why We Use It
We use the information we collect to operate, secure, and improve the Service — understanding which pages and features are used, diagnosing problems, measuring interest in our games, and remembering your preferences. Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal basis for analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Service in a privacy-protective way; for any data you actively submit (such as creating an account), our basis is performing our agreement with you and/or your consent.
5. Analytics Processor
We use PostHog as our analytics provider and data processor. PostHog processes the usage data described above on our behalf. We configure PostHog to create full person profiles only for identified users, so anonymous marketing visitors are not built into personal profiles. You can review PostHog's privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy. We do not use analytics session replay or heatmaps on the marketing site.
7. Do Not Track & Opt-Out
We honor browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. If your browser sends a DNT signal, our analytics will not capture your activity. You can also opt this browser out of analytics at any time by visiting rtvsim.com/?ph_optout=1 (this silences analytics for that device and persists until you clear it); visiting rtvsim.com/?ph_optout=0 re-enables it. Clearing your cookies and local storage will also remove the device identifier.
8. Data Retention
We retain usage and analytics data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or aggregated in accordance with our analytics provider's retention settings. Account data (in the game application) is retained while your account is active and deleted within a reasonable period after you delete your account, except where we must keep it to comply with law or resolve disputes. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 9).
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@rtvsim.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
10. California Rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not knowingly sell the personal information of minors. You may exercise your rights by contacting privacy@rtvsim.com, and we will not discriminate against you for doing so.
11. International Transfers
We and our service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the minimum age described in our Terms (13, or higher where your local law requires — generally 16 in the EU). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact privacy@rtvsim.com and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
